We can say new year in japanese called Oshogatsu.

We have zoni 1st Jan. morning as a breakfast
Each area also has its own a special New Years soup
containing rice cakes.

Yes! I saw the full moon last night! It was a very clear sky yesterday, which felt like a miracle. In Zurich, Winter means no sunshine or blue skies!
