the First Day of Winter

According to the traditional East Asian Calender,today's (7th of Nov)the first day of winter. But still warm here. we have sun-shine.


Mountain is turning into  its winter colour??
Still deep autumn colour indeed..



From my small garden, I just planted violas -which are strong against winter (generally japan) -will bloom until spring...these are not flowers yet...I cant wait its growing up and lots of flowers.

I am glad you are still having good weather, Mami. We have had to postpone our traditional British fireworks due to bad weather! Thanks for those lovely photos - I shall think of those pots in your garde, so please let us know how they grow!

Winter violas are such pretty flowers and they survive to our cold winter too!

wow, I did not know that the different calendars in parts of the world had different start-dates for the seasons. I am learning something new everyday!! :-) I love the picture of the bright red tree against the green of the mountain, that is trully beautiful! Believe it or not, there are many Japanese maples here in the town that I live, and their red colors are the loveliest of all the trees! I like to look extra for them everywhere.
