December

It begins...
December is particularly busy for us. we say Shiwasu as a December-it means priests also run in hurry because it is the last month of year. And we have to prepare for a new year. Many things for it.

Japanese people have a custom of doing a general year-end cleaning of both the inside and outside of their homes to greet the New Year Of course more than usual. organization more than usual too.
Many things have to be.  it is necessary to be done before new year comes
It is a custom for preparation  for new year.

somehow we say BUSY...though :(

Beautiful flowers! It's a great idea to start out the new year with everything clean and organized.

It seems that the end of the year and the beginning of the new year are busy times all over the world! Thank you for letting us know about life in Japan, Mami - I love to learn more.

Hello Mami~As fall came to a close I looked forward to winter (that's fast approaching), bringing a festive inspiration for trimming and baking.
Don't you love the aroma that fills the air during this season?
My cat also appreciates the evergreens and an occasional ping pong toss with my ornaments....
I forgot to mention my husband was an English teacher in Japan when he was a young man. My daughter in-law sister is also a teacher and has resided in Japan for a few years.

Sweet Holiday Wishes,
Sara

Have fun preparing your home for the new year
I must start this very sensible tradition as well, because I want a fresh, new start to a new year :)
